Man from the South

The "Man from the South" story is about a group of people getting into a ridiculous bet with the risk of losing a finger, the pinky finger to be exact. The man with the proposition of the bet was under the impression that a pinky finger is not important. Unfortunately, he is very wrong and is going to take  major functions away from the boy because he'll lose his grip strength. I am questioning the sanity of all the characters involved because the bet should have never gotten as far as it did. Thankfully, the man's wife rushed in at the last minute to save the young American soldier from losing a finger, but I have to say I am concerned for her the most. She had previously bet multiple of her own fingers in order to obtain the man's possessions. The woman only had her thumb and one other digit left on her hand. I cannot imagine the troubles she faces on a daily basis. Any and all of her occupations that involve her hand are affected because she has decreased her ability to have a strong grip strength by tenfold. Getting ready in the morning would take major assistance because of using the restroom, brushing her teeth, and putting on make up. For starters, she's definitely going to need to grip the toilet paper in order to wipe by herself. She needs to use a lateral pinch, or key pinch, grip when holding a toothbrush and applying blush and with the lack of fingers, she will be unable to do those things. A strategy that she could try for putting on make up is using both hands and her mouth. With both of her palms together, she could pick up the make-up product and with her mouth she could twist off the lid or cap. Not an easy way of doing things and could have been avoided with a little common sense, but it should get the job done. When she get's a hang of getting ready without the use of several important digits, she'll have to face the task of driving that fancy car she won with a new set of modifications.
